Public forums are open to the entire forums community, and the general public. However, there may be areas on the message boards of these forums where you must either earn or request access. Also, if you want to explore the forums more freely, you should register. Membership in HanginOutForums.com is free!
Forums with a minimum age requirement are clearly marked. Their listings are followed by the minimum age they require, such as 18+ or 21+. The contents in these types of forums are usually restricted, and their owner may want other conditions be met, beyond the minimum age, before they allow a visitor entry beyond the forum's start page.
There are two types of private forums, and either may choose not to be listed in the site's main forum index on this page. They are . . .
Password Protected, where the owner has provided their members with a password to gain access beyond the forum's login page. Even if you're logged into the main system, you'll still have to log in separately to their forum with the correct password for it.
Restricted Access forums require you be a registered member of HanginOutForums.com's forums, and on that forum's member roster. If you're not on that forum's member roster, you'll get a page telling you you're not a member. The page may also have contact information for the forum's owner or staff. You must be a HanginOutForums.com member before they can add you to their forum's member roster.
HanginOutForums.com also provides free hosting for member homepages and webspace, and forum webpages and webspace. Member pages are listed on the index page of the members area. You can access this area by clicking on 'Member Pages' on this page's upper left. You can find a forum's webpage by clicking on the little house after its name in the index.
